ISRAEL STOPS MORE THAN 99% OF IRANIAN DRONE, MISSILE ASSAULT: Of contemporary military might, Israel has intercepted 99% of the 300 drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles launched by Iran during a massive attack. The historic assault that included projectiles from Iran, as well as Iraq and Yemen, caused minimal harm and few casualties, owing to Israel’s multi-layered air defense systems. The Israeli navy said Iran launched around 170 drones, 30 cruise missile, and missiles with a range over 100 in a wave of attack and over 120 ballistic missiles towards Israel during the early hours of April 14. But the country’s space defense system, including the Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow 2 and 3 defense systems, short-circuited virtually all of the incoming threats. The United States also played a role in the defense, taking down dozens of the Iranian projectiles using its Aegis missile systems on navy warships and land-based aircraft. President Biden praised the performance, claiming the United States assisted Israel in shooting down “almost all” drones and missiles. The president was very grateful for the work, saying the bombardment “could have caused a lot of damage.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant Kant both praised their nation’s defense, with Gallant stating the attack was “blocked in the most technologically black way, together with our colleagues, the Americans and others.” The strike marked the first moment Iran targeted Israel in such a large military assault, despite the nations’ hostile relations. This came just weeks after alleged Israeli airstrikes in Syria killed two Iranian generals, which Tehran vowed to avenge. The recent incident serves as a slim note. Though the actual incident was minimal, it demonstrates how violent the area has grown and how quickly things may deteriorate. The United Nations Security Council held an emergency session in the wake of the assault, and warnings were issued by both the United States and Israel that Iran’s aggression might lead to more significant consequences in the Middle-East. Israel’s rejection of this enormous Iranian missile and drone bombardment serves as a confirmation of the nation’s cutting-edge military capabilities and provides more grounds for the allies’ Union with the United States to protect its people from the invasion of doubtful powers.
